The soon to be former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, just came out and said the CIA lied to her back in 2002, when she was briefed on enhanced interrogation. According to Pelosi, the CIA told her they had NOT waterboarded anyone. The world knows that’s not true. The only possible explanation as to why Pelosi would go off half-cocked after both the Bush and Obama Administrations, both republicans and democrats, is that she’s telling the truth. Nothing else makes sense.
After testimony yesterday by former FBI interrogator Ali Soufan, we have a fairly accurate picture of what happened to terrorist Abu Zubaydah in 2002. After all, he was in the room when the actionable intelligence was obtained – and quite legally, I might add.
Republicans from Pete Hoekstra to John Boehner to Dick Cheney want the full truth to be layed out in the open. President Obama, ostensibly of the same party as Pelosi, does not want all our dirty little secrets released to the general public. We’ve got American heroes in jeopardy in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan; the security of the entire world is teetering on the brink.
We all have to make sacrifices at one time or another for the greater good. It’s Nancy Pelosi’s turn. She may very well be the one of the very few who is actually in the right, but that’s no longer the point. For the good of the country, Nancy Pelosi must resign.
