No Joke

May 12, 2009

Wanda Sykes skirted over the edge when she went after Rush Limbaugh. Yeah, he’s a jerk, but even fools deserve an element of compassion. Rush’s statements that he wants President Obama to fail, and that there’s nothing wrong with that are also over the edge, and I’ll tell ya why.

President Obama wants to disrupt, dismantle and defeat al-Qaeda. Remember those guys, the ones who killed three thousand innocent people on 9/11? They’re the enemy, and defeating them will help make America safer. Limbaugh doesn’t want America to be safe.

President Obama has poured money into fixing the economy that was so weakened by the previous administration that we’ve seen record losses across the board. Obama wants to help get folks back to work, get housing stabilized and businesses making profits once again.  Limbaugh wants more people to lose their jobs, homes and businesses.

President Obama wants to reform health-care by lowering costs and giving all Americans the opportunity to get, choose, or keep whatever coverage they want. Limbaugh doesn’t want Americans to have health-care.

The President has made it clear that we need to decrease our carbon footprint. He’s made it clear that we will no longer torture. Limbaugh wants to hasten the day when the earth can no longer sustain human life, and that torture is OK in his book.

These are just a few of the issues Rush Limbaugh disagrees with the President on. Saying you disagree is one thing; unashamedly, unapologetically hoping the President fails is quite another.

And that’s no joke…
